Programme focus: To develop competent Anaesthesia Assistants who can support safe perioperative care through structured learning in anaesthesia practice, patient preparation, airway support, monitoring, equipment, medications, infection prevention, communication and teamwork.
The programme is designed to build the knowledge, practical competence and professional confidence required for an Anaesthesia Assistant to work effectively as part of the anaesthesia and perioperative team. This is a Certificate Course upon successful completion.
The curriculum is organised into Relevant Core and Hands on Training classifications, focusing on the knowledge, practical skills and teamwork required of an Anaesthesia Assistant.
